1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS THREE BOAT BUILDING/REPAIR YARDS
LOCATED NORTH OF HAI PRONG, NORTH VIETNAM.
2. MISSION READOUT:
SONG KINH TRAY (RIVER) IN THE VILLAGE OF AN NINH NOI AT 2059N 10634E
(UTM XJ629210). THE YARD CONSISTS OF THREE BUILDING/REPAIR WAYS AND
FOURTEEN BUILDINGS. TWO BARGES ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN THE YARD,
AND THREE EMPTY BARGES, ONE BARGE LOADED WITH UNIDENTIFIED MATERIAL,
AND THREE UNIDENTIFIED SMALL CRAFT ARE MOORED TO THE RIVER BANK. TWO
ADDITIONAL UNIDENTIFIED SMALL CRAFT ARE ON A WAYS. THREE HULL SECTIONS,
ONE POL TANK, AND SOME UNIDENTIFIED MATERIAL ARE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT
THE YARD.
YARD LOCATED 10.7 NM NORTHWEST OF HAI PHONG ON THE SOUTH BANK OF THE
SONG KINH THAI (RIVER), 0.5 NM NORTHEAST OF PHAP CO AT 2100N 10635E
(UTM XJ658243). THE YARD CONSISTS OF A SINGLE BUILDING WAYS, TWELVE
POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED OVENS, SIX SUPPORT BUILDINGS/SHOPS, AND TWO HOUSING

UNITS. AN ADJACENT AREA, ASSOCIATED WITH THE BOAT YARD, CONTAINS TEN
BUILDINGS OF WHICH FIVE ARE SUPPORT BUILDINGS AND FIVE ARE PROBABLY
HOUSING UNITS. ONE BARGE IS IN AN EARLY STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION, AND A

NORTHEAST OF HAI PHONG ON THE EAST BANK OF THE SONG THAI KHE (RIVER),
0.3 NM NORTHWEST OF THAI KHE AT 2101N 10647E (UTM XJ859266). THE YARD
CONTAINS A SINGLE BUILDING WAYS AND AT LEAST SEVEN SUPPORT BUILDINGS.

ALL OF THE YARDS ARE CAPABLE OF REPAIRING SMALL CRAFT.
ALL UTM COORDINATES ARE TAKEN FROM AMS SERIES L7014, SHEETS 6350 IV,
6351 11, AND 6351 III.
