1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A NEWLY IDENTIFIED FIELD DEPLOYED SAM
SITE NEAR HA NOI, THE ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIRST SITE TO BE IDENTIFIED
IN NORTH VIETNAM.
2. LOCATION:
THE SITE IS LOCATED 38.6 NM NORTHWEST OF HA NOI.
3. REMARKS:
OF THE ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-TWO SAM SITES IDENTIFIED IN NORTH
VIETNAM SINCE APRIL 1965, SIX HAVE BEEN ABANDONED AND ONE HAS BEEN
IDENTIFIED TO BE AN ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERY SITE, BRINGING THE TOTAL
NUMBER OF KNOWN USABLE SITES TO ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE.
4. MISSION READOUT:
I VEALS THIS FIELD DEPLOYED SAM SITE
TO CONSIST OF THREE PARTIALLY REVETTED LAUNCH POSITIONS AND AN UNREVETTED
CENTRAL GUIDANCE AREA. NO MISSILE HOLD POSITIONS, MISSILES, OR MISSILE
ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT ARE OBSERVED.
