1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A FIELD DEPLOYED SAM SITE NEAR VINH,
THE ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVENTH SITE TO BE IDENTIFIED IN NORTH
VIETNAM.
2. LOCATION:
TAE SITE IS LOCATED 1.8 NM EAST-NORTHEAST OF VINH.
3. BACKGROUND:
OF THE ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SAM SITES IDENTIFIED IN NORTH VIETNAM
SINCE APRIL 1965, SEVEN HAVE BEEN ABANDONED AND ONE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED
AS AN ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERY SITE, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF KNOWN
ACTIVE SITES TO ONE HiINDRED ANi; TWENTY-TWO.
4. MISSION READOUT:
CONSIST OF FOUR OCCUPIED REVETTED LAUNCH POSITIONS AND A PROBABLY
OCCUPIED UNREVETTED CENTRAI, GUIDANCE AREA WHICH ARE CAMOUFLAGED.
