1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A SERVICEABLE CABLE BRIDGE ON NORTH
VIETNAM ROUTE 6, AND AN UNSERVICEABLE FORD AND AN ABADIDONED PONTOON
BRIDGE SITE OVER THE NAM MEUK RIVER.

THE CABLE BRIDGE DEPICTED IN THI5 BRIEFING BOARD IS LOCATED ON
THE SITE OF THE DESTROYED BAN PA HUONE HIGHWAY BRIDGE OVER TrLC NAM
THE ORIGINAL BRIDGE ABUTMENTS OF THE DESTROYED BAN PA HUONE HIGHWAY
BRIDGE, AND SUPPORTID BY THE REMAINING THREE PIERS. REMOVABLE DECKING
IS OBSERVED ON BOTH APPROACHES. THERE ARE NO OTHER SERVICEABLE RIVER
CROSSINGS NOTED IN THE AREA.
