REMARKS: ROUTE 137 CONNECTS WITH ROUTE 101 AT THE SONG TROC (RIVER), FROM THIS POINT ROUTE 137 EXTENDS GENERALLY SOUTHWEST TO THE LAOTIAN BORDER AND LAOTIAN ROUTES g12 AND g11. ROUTES 137 AND 101 ARE MAJOR SUPPLY ROUTES USED FOR THE INFILTRATION OF MEN AND MATERIEL INTO THE LAOTIAN PANHANDLE FROM NORTH VIETNAM, 3? MISSION READOUT: REVEAL A NEW ROAD EXTENDING SOUTHWEST FROM ROUTE 137 AT 1735N 10617E (UTM xE368454) TO A NEW PROBABLE FERRY CROSSING OVER THE SONG TROC (RIVER) AT 1735N 10616E (UTM XE361447), THE ROAD CONTINUES GENERALLY WEST; THEN NORTH-NORTHEAST ALONG THE BASE OF A LARGE KARST HILL TO ITS JUNCTION WITH ROUTE 101 AT 1737N 10617E (UTM XE3674g5). NUMEROUS TRUCK PULL-OFFS ARE OBSERVID AT 1736N 10616E (UTM XE348463) THROUGH SCATTERED CLOUDS, A FERRY CROSSING ON ROUTE 101 AT 1736N 10618E IS UNSERVICEABLE These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work.
