1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A NEWLY IDENTIFIED BURIED POL STORAGE AREA.
2. LOCATION:
THIS POL STORAGE AREA IS LOCATED 0.3 NM NORTH OF KINH KHE.
3. REMARKS:
APPARENTLY IN RESPONSE TO U.S. AIRSTRIKES, NUMEROUS SMALL FACILITIES, EACH
CONSISTING OF A SMALL NUMBER OF HORIZONTAL TANKS PLACED IN INDIVIDUAL SHALLOW
EXCAVATIONS AND MOUNDED OVER WITH EARTH, HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED IN NORTH VIET-
NAM FOR THE STORAGE OF POL.
4. MISSION READOUT:
UE 458E/581, 11 JUNE 1966, REVEALS A BURIED POL STORAGE AREA CONSISTING
OF TWO BURIED TANKS, TWENTY-THREE TANKS ON THE GROUND, AND TEN EXCAVATIONS.
THE EXCAVATIONS ARE FILLED WITH WATER.
