The specialists on harvesting and reforestation met in Washington, D.C. on October 28 and considered: (a) The Forest Service organization. (b) Cooperation between the USSR and the US in the area of reforestation and afforestation including site preparation, .planting, thinning, and breeding of woody species. In the future it would be rational to have exchanges of specialists and information on shelterbelts, breeding, and an exchange of woody species seeds. Travel centered in and around Raleigh, North Carolina; Gainesville, Florida; and Gulfport, Mississippi with numerous other stops enroute. 3. The Soviet delegation expresses thanks to all the people who helped develop and carry out the program of travel throughout the Southeastern United States. 4. Both sides agreed that cooperation in the fields of harvesting and reforestation is mutually beneficial and steps should be taken to continue the exchange of scientific specialists and information and also to define future program objectives. 5. Both sides commend the business-like and friendly atmosphere under which the current exchanges took place in Washington, D.C. during the travel of the delegation, and at the close-out session in New Orleans.
