1. 1 have discussed the referent memorandum with the
Deputy Director of Central Intelligence and he has presented
the following advice.
2. lie, himself, will try to host some of then:. He
further suggests that Paul Walsh, John McMahon, and. the
undersigned. also serve as hosts-briefers. I believe we can
start with those nai as but I further believe as time goes
by we should also endeavor to get Les Dirks and, Sayre Stevens
worked into the pattern. I am not sure if they have
participated as panel Ynembers. It would make sense if you
would ascertain if they have and, if so, tell them we
eventually propose to utilize them as "hosts-briefers". If
they have not so participated, then they should be asked to
audit one session so as to become familiar with the routine.
3. 1 ecause the Faculty Fellows Program is a one-shot
deal, it is suggested you first invite ~Mr . Knoche to be the
host-briefer for that occasion and if that is not possible,
th.en I would suggest that Paul Walsh be the next one you
a ;:;proact..
4. There is one other problem that must be quickly
worked on. The charts that have been used for this briefing
were originally designed by Mr. Colby and are now much out
of date and do not reflect the restructuring of the Community
as brought about by Executive Order 1190S. They also make

reference to the Senate Oversight Committee. Would you
one address thonself to this ratter soonest and
present me with a new series of draft charts. The draft
charts can be typewrittern on regular paper. After reviewing
then we can then have the drawn up in final briefing fashion.
I would like to see the draft charts by Tuesday, 7 September
1976 so that I would have time to d'o some other coordination
on the$.
