SUBJECT : SSC Subcommittee Report Concerning
Warren Commission Inquiries
1. The SSC Subcommittee, studying the support of intelli-
gence agencies for the Warren Commission, has concluded that
there are a number of unanswered questions concerning possible
ties between Lee Harvey Oswald and the Castro government in
the assassination of President Kennedy. While we entertain a
number of reservations about this report we should anticipate
some follow-up inquiries from the new Senate intelligence over-
sight committee. In anticipation of such an inquiry, and by way
of preparation for it, has requested the undersigned
to initiate a review of the statement of facts set .forth in the Sub-
committee report as a basis for its conclusions, and of such
other factual information as may be relevant to the subject.
2. It is requested that representatives of LA. Division,
CI Staff, and the Office of Security be designated to work with
me on this problem. Please advise me of their names by
30 June.
