In response to referent, a member of my
Office will arrange for storage of the platter and dish set
and the alligator purse. Inasmuch as the purse is valued
at less than 50, it will be hold in the Agency for an
indefinite period.

SUBJECT: Gifts from Foreign Governments

1. In compliance with Headquarters Regulation
and PL 89-673, 80 stat. 952, of 16 October 1966 (Foreign Gift
and Decorations Act), the following described gifts one of
which is believed to exceed $50.00 in value, which were presented
to the DCI in the conduct of his official duties, are hereby
reported for use and disposal as the property of the United
States:
a. Decorative platter and dish, encasbd in
uede-like container. Received from the President
Value estimated to be over $50.00. 1976
b. Alli ator purse. Received from the
Value estimated to be under
$50.00. 1976
2. It is requested that these items be turned over to
the proper Government official for appropriate storage. The
items are being held by me and can be picked up anytime.
3. It is requested that the identity of the donors not be
reported to the Department of State, pending a determination of
Agency policy, in order to protect the existence of sensitive
intelligence liaison relationships.
