Procurement of Medical Consultants
DATE: 7 October 1949
It is recommended that the Medical Division
be authorized to establish for its own use a
medical consultant service. As proposed the ser-
vice would be composed of leading physicians in
the various specialties of medicine and surgery,
the number and type to be determined by the Medi-
cal Division. All physicians so authorized would
receive full security investigation. Utilization
of services would be limited to assistance in eva.lu-
ation of diagnostically difficult cases scheduled
for overseas assignment.
