NPIC REPORT 734-64. HOWEVER, THIS MISSION
PROVIDES THE FIRST IDENTIFICATION OF SCUD
EQUIPMENT. THE INSTALLATION ENCOMPASSES AN
AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 2,700 ACRES LOCATED
AROUND THE NORTHERN SHORE OF ANDREYEVSKOYE
LAKE IN THE HEARTLAND OF THE SOVIET UNION.

DREDGING IS OBSERVED AT THE SOUTH END OF THE INSTALLATION AS WELL AS
EXPANSION OF THE TRAINING FACILITIES INCLUDING THE COMPLETION OF A PROBABLE
SCUD LAUNCH TRAINING AREA ON THE NORTH EDGE OF THE INSTALLATION. A NEWLY
IDENTIFIED BARRACKS AND STORAGE FACILITY IS LOCATED 3.2 NM NE. IT CONTAINS
16 BARRACKS/QUARTERS, 4 BARRACKS, AN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, A MESS HALL,
8 WAREHOUSES, 3 VEHICLE STORAGE BUILDINGS, 15 SUPPORT BUILDINGS, 9 SMALL
HUTS, 3 SMALL OPEN STORAGE AREAS, AND ONE SMALL-ARMS RANGE.
VEHICLES/PIECES OF EQUIPMENT THAT WERE OBSERVED INCLUDED 11 SS-1 SCUD
MISSILE TRANSPORT SEMITRAILERS WITH TRUCK TRACTORS, 2 PROBABLE SCUD TEL
(TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCHER), 11 AAA PIECES, 35 FA PIECES, 41 TRUCKS
