9. MISSION READOUT: A PROBABLE LONG RANGE SAM LAUNCH COMPLEX IN A MID-
STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION IS OBSERVED AT 55-38-OON O35-48-OOE, 11 NM NW OF
MOZHAYBK, 62 NM WSW OF MOSKVA AND 58 NM SOUTH OF KALININ. THIS COMPLEX WAS
NOT PRESENT ON SOME SCRAPING WAS OBSERVED ON

THE COMPLEX CONSISTS OF THREE LAUNCH SITES DESIGNATED "A", "B", "C", AND
AN ELECTRONIC SITE. THE LAUNCH POSITION REVETMENTS DO NOT RESEMBLE OTHER
DEPLOYED COMPLEX REVETMENTS PREVIOUSLY OBSERVED, ALTHOUGH POSITIONS 2 THROUGH
5 AT EACH SITE ARE SOMEWHAT SIMILAR TO THE REVETMENTS AT LAUNCH SITE 1, LAUNCH

COMPLEX A, AT SARY SHAGAN. NO PREPARATION FOR V-RAIL INSTALLATION IS OB-
SERVED. A DRIVE-THROUGH CENTRAL REVETMENT AT EACH LAUNCH SITE CONSISTS OF
TWO CLOSELY SPACED PARALLEL MOUNDS.
THE PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR OF A LINE CONNECTING SITES "A" AND "C"
CONTROL HAS AN AZIMUTH OF 105/285 DEGREES (PLUS OR MINUS 10 DEGREES). THE
FOLLOWING MEASUREMENTS REPRESENT THE DIMENSIONS BETWEEN LAUNCH SITE CONTROL
CENTERS: "A" TO "C", 2138 FT (PLUS OR MINUS 10 DEGREES OR 10 %). RADAR
POSITIONS ARE NOT DISCERNIBLE AT THE ELECTRONIC SITE, HOWEVER, A LONG MOUND
FACES A REVETMENT WITH 3 SEPERATE BAYS. A LARGE GRADED AREA IS ADJACENT
TO THE ELECTRONIC SITE BUT NO PROMINENT FEATURES ARE OBSERVED. A PROBABLE
FENCE ENCLOSES MOST OF THE COMPLEX. NO MISSILES OR MISSILE-RELATED EQUIP-
MENT OBSERVED.
