SIGNIFICANCE: 2. LOCATION: FOUR IMPORTANT BRIDGES, TWO ON THE RAIL LINE EXTEND- ING FROM KEP TO PING-HSIANG, CHINA AND TWO ON THE RAIL LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION FROM KEP TOWARD THAI NGUYEN, ARE OBSERVED. THREE OF THESE BRIDGES ARE PROBABLY SERVICEABLE. THE BRIDGES ARE LOCATED AS FOLLOWS: A. THE BRIDGE OVER THE KINH KEP (CANEL) AT 2125N- 10616E IS 1.5 NM NW OF KEP ON THE KEP/ THAI NGUYEN RAIL LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. B. THE BRIDGE OVER THE SONG THUONG (RIVER) AT 2127N - 10614E IS 4.5 NM NW OF KEP ON THE KEP/THAI NGUYEN RAIL LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. C. THE CAO NUNG BRIDGE OVER THE SONG HOA (RIVER) AT 2133N - 10629E IS 1 NM SW OF CAO NUNG AND 15.5 NM NE OF KEP ON THE KEP/PING- HSIANG RAIL LINE. These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work. BACKGROUND: LOW ALTITUDE PHOTOGRAPHY OF BOTH BRIDGES ON THE KEP/THAI NGUYEN RAIL LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION TO BE WITHOUT SPANS AND THERE- FORE UNSERVICEABLE. THIS PHOTOGRAPHY ALSO RE- VEALED BOTH THE CAO NUNG BRIDGE AND ITS BY-PASS BRIDGE TO BE UNSERVICEABLE. 4. MISSION READOUT: SPANS ARE IN PLACE ON THE BRIDGE OVER THE KINH KEP (CANAL) AND ON THE BRIDGE OVER THE SONG THUONG (RIVER). THE BRIDGES ARE PROBABLY SERVICEABLE. SCALE PRECLUDES IDENTIFICATION OF THE RAILHEAD AND ROLLING STOCK. SPANS ARE OBSERVED IN PLACE ON THE BY-PASS BRIDGE AROUND THE DESTROYED CAO HUNG BRIDGE OVER THE SONG HOA (RIVER).
