PROBABLE LONG RANGE SAM LAUNCH COMPLEXES DEPLOYED AT THIRTEEN LOCATIONS IN THE USSR. SITES 5 AND 6 ARE THE R AND D FACILITIES FOR THE THREE LENINGRAD PROBABLE LONG RANGE SAM LAUNCH COMPLEXES. 4. DIMENSIONS SPECIFICATIONS: LAUNCH SITE 3: (MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATELY) 2 UNIDENTIFIED MISSILES: PROBABLE MISSILE TRANSPORTER: ALONG THE OUTER ACCESS ROAD HAVE NOT BEEN REVETTED. LAUNCH POSITIONS 1, 4 AND 5 ARE OCCUPIED BY PROBABLE SA-2 LAUNCHERS, POSITION 2 BY A LAUNCHER WITH AN UNIDENTIFIED MISSILE, POSITION 3 BY A LAUNCHER WITH A GUIDELINE-TYPE MISSILE, AND POSITION 7 BY AN UNIDENTIFIED LAUNCHER. POSITION 6 IS UNOCCUPIED. EQUIPMENT IN THE CENTRAL GUIDANCE AREA INCLUDES 2 FAN SONG RADARS, 2 TRUCKS AND 13 VANS. JUST EAST OF LAUNCH POSITION 6 ARE A PROBABLE SA-2 LAUNCHER AND A GUIDELINE-TYPE MISSILE. CLOSER TO THE NORTHEAST SITE BOUNDARY ARE 2 GUIDELINE-TYPE MISSILES (1 DRAPED). AN UNIDENTIFIED PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, 10 PROBABLE SA-2 LAUNCHERS, 6 VANS AND A NUMBER OF SETS OF BOGIE WHEELS. THE SPOON REST RADAR REMAINS POSITIONED BETWEEN LAUNCH SITES 1 AND 2. LAUNCH SITE 2 -- THE 6 LAUNCH POSITIONS REMAIN UNREVETTED AND UNOCCUPIED. These notes have been prepared for briefing purposes only and should not be used for detailed analytical work. TOP SECRET I Approved For Release 2007/02/09 : CIA-RDP78T059IOAOO170006001 4 3 Attachment to lr5X1 2 May 19 MOBILE EQUIPMENT IN THE CENTRAL GUIDANCE AREA CONSISTS OF A FAN SONG RADAR, 6 VANS AND ONE UNIDENTIFIED PIECE OF EQUIPMEIT. ONE VEHICLE IS OBSERVED ON THE ACCESS ROAD TO THE SITE AND SEVERAL AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE LAUNCH AREA. WITHIN A SEPARATELY FENCED AREA ALONG THE EAST BOUNDARY EAST OF SITE 2 ARE 12 VEHICLES/PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND A CHERRY PICKER OR CRANE. LAUNCH SITE 3 -- THE 6 POSITIONS OF SITE 3 ARE OCCUPIED BY RAIL-TYPE LAUNCHERS. FORMER POSITION 6, UNOCCUPIED BY A LAUNCHER, CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN ON THIS MISSION. TWO PROBABLE DOLLIES ARE OBSERVED AT POSITIONS 1, 5 AND 6 AND ONE Is PRESENT AT POSITION 2. THE LARGE ENVIRONMENTAL SHELTERS OCCUPYING THE LEG EXTREMITIES AT POSITIONS 3 AND 4 APPEAR TO BE CONNECTED BY A STRUCTURE OR DRAPE. TWO ADDITIONAL APPENDAGES OR POSSIBLE CRATES EXTEND FROM ONE OF THE SHELTERS ON POSITION 4. AN UNIDENTIFIED PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS POSITIONED JUST SOUTH OF THESE SHELTERS AT POSITION 3. AT POSITION 5 AN OBJECT ABUTS ONE OF THE PRO- BABLE DOLLIES. THE CENTRAL CONTROL AREA IS OCCUPIED BY 4 VANS. THE OLD LAUNCH POSITIONS CONSIST OF A SQUARE LAUNCH POINT AND A FORKED PATTERN WITH LEGS OF VARYING WIDTHS. TWO PROBABLE DOLLIES OR PIECES OF SUPPORT EQUIPMENT ARE OBSERVED AT THE ENDS OF THE FORKED PATTERNS AT POSITIONS 1 AND 3, AND ONE AT POSITIONS 2, 4 AND 5. AN ADDITIONAL PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS FOUND AT THE APEX OF THE FORK AT POSITIONS 1 THROUGH 4. POSITION 6, WHICH IS THE ONLY ONE TO LACK THE FORKED PATTERN, HAS 2 PIECES OF SUPPORT EQUIPMENT NEAR THE LAUNCHER. SIX VANS OCCUPY THE CENTRAL CONTROL AREA.
