AT LAUNCH COMPLEX "A", THERE IS A POSSIBLE
MISSILE ERECTED ON PAD Al.
AT LAUNCH SITE 14, VEHICULAR ACTIVITY IS
APPARENT AT THE SILO.
AT LAUNCH COMPLEX "J", CONSTRUCTION IS
LAUNCH COMPLEX "A" INCLUDES 3 SOFT RAIL-SERVED
LAUNCH PADS (Al,.A2, AND A3). LAUNCH PAD Al
WAS THE FIRST PAD IDENTIFIED AT THE TYURATAM MTC.
LAUNCH SITE 14 IS A TYPE IIIC SINGLE-SILO
LAUNCH SITE.
LAUNCH COMPLEX "J" INCLUDES 3 MAJOR FEATURES:
(1) A LARGE SUPPORT FACILITY CONTAINING AN ADMIN-
ISTRATION/HOUSING AREA AND A CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
AREA, (2) A MISSILE ASSEMBLY/CHECKOUT BUILDING
(MAB) HAVING 2 SECTIONS, AND (3) A LAUNCH AREA
CONTAINING 2 LAUNCH PADS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

9. MISSION READOUT: LAUNCH COMPLEX "A". THE SERVICE TOWER AT PAD
Al HAS A DIFFERENT APPEARANCE THAN IT HAS HAD WHEN PREVIOUSLY OBSERVED.

PAD SEPARATION -- 1,700 FT (APPROX)
AND OVERHANG THE FLAME PIT ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CONCRETE LAUNCH PAD.
A VERTICAL OBJECT, POSSIBLY A MISSILE, IS LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF THE
PAD, AND A STEEPLY INCLINED MEMBER IS ADJACENT ON THE DOWNRANGE SIDE.
A PROBABLE MISSILE TRANSPORTER IS IACATED ON THE RAIL ON THE PAD.
TWO HIGH LATTICE TOWERS, SIMILAR TO THOSE SEEN AT OTHER LAUNCH PADS
AT THE TYURATAM MTC, HAVE BEEN ERECTED ON EITHER SIDE OF PAD A1, DIAMETRICALLY
ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER. THE FIRST EVIDENCE OF THESE TOWERS IS OBSERVED ON

LAUNCH SITE 14. THE SILO DOOR IS CLOSED. THERE ARE AT LEAST
14 VEHICLES~PIECES OF EQUIPMENT ON THE APRON IN FRONT OF THE SILO AND
AT LEAST 11 MORE IN THE VICINITY OF THE BUILDING LOCATED BESIDE THE ACCESS
ROAD AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE SITE.
LAUNCH COMPLEX "J". CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES AT THE LAUNCH AREA. A
CYLINDRICAL COLUMN OR PEDESTAL, SIMILAR TO THE ONE OPSERVED AT J1 IS NOW
UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT J2. THE BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES BETWEEN THE PADS
ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTIONS AND BUILDING MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT, AND OPEN
DITCHING ARE PREVALENT THROUGHOUT THE AREA. A RAIL SPUR HAS BEEN EXTENDED
TO A POINT WEST OF J2 APPARENTLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF OFF-LOADING MATERIAL.
CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES ON THE GANTRY TRACK FOUNDATIONS BETWEEN THE
LAUNCH AREA AND THE MISSILE ASSEMBLY~CHECKOUT BUILDING (MAB). THE MAB AND
THE MATERIEL STORAGE AREA TO THE NE OF IT HAVE BEEN SECURED BY A DOUBLE
FENCE. A GANTRY CRANE HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED OVER THE RAIL SPUR ON THE SE
SIDE OF THE MAB. AT LEAST 5 BUILDINGS ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN
THE AREA OF MULTISTORY BUILDINGS SW OF THE MAB.
