NEW CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IS EVIDENT AT LAUNCH AREA G1 - G2. LAUNCH AREA G1-G2 CONTAINS 2 RAIL-SERVED LAUNCH PADS. EACH PAD IS SERVED BY A GANTRY MOUNTED ON RAILS ALLOWING IT TO BE MOVED TO AND FROM THE PAD. THE LAUNCH AREA WAS CONSIDERED COM- PLETE IN THE SCRAG WAS FIRST OBSERVED IN THE 9 MAY 65 MOSCOW PARADE. IT IS A 3-STAGE, LIQUID-PRO- PEELED ICBM. IT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED WITH ANY KNOWN ICBM TESTED BY THE SOVIETS. AT THE WEST END OF THE TYURATAM MTC, APPROX- IMATELY 2 NM NNW OF THE LAUNCH COMPLEX "G" SUPPORT FACILITY. DITCHING EXTENDS EASTWARD AND THEN NORTHWARD FROM THE EARTH- MOUNDED BUILDING ON THE EAST SIDE OF G2. DITCHES, APPARENTLY FOR FOOT- INGS, HAVE BEEN DUG AT THE SOUTH END OF THE MISSILE READY BUILDING BE- HIND G2, SUGGESTING THAT THE BUILDING WILL BE EXTENDED IN THAT DIREC- TION. A DITCH EXTENDS SOUTHWARD FROM ONE OF THE EARTH-MOUNDED BUILDINGS BETWEEN THE LAUNCH PADS. NUMEROUS UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLES ARE IN THE AREA. MISSILES IN A HORIZONTAL POSITION ARE LOCATED IN FRONT OF BOTH OF THE READY BUILDINGS. THE ONE AT Gl APPEARS TO HAVE 2 MATED STAGES II AND 30 FT IN LENGTH, AND IS IDENTIFIED AS THE FIRST 2 STAGES OF A POSSIBLE SCRAG.
