ARMY BARRACKS, USSR (S)
(S/WNINTEL) ,five Soviet armored 25X1
reconnaissance vehicles, ACRV M-1974 (variants), were identified at Uralsk Army
Barracks, USSR This is the second identification of the ACRV M-1974 25X1

(TSR) The ACRV M-1974 (variant) is similar to the ACRV M-1974, which is associated
with self-propelled artillery, except for two distinctive features. The variant has no turret
and may have a rectangular extensio which overhangs the right rear edge 25X1
of the chassis. Three ACRV M-1974 (variants) at Uralsk have the rectangular extension and
one of these also has an erected antenna mast (Figure 2A).
(S/WNINTEL) The identification of the ACRV M-1974 (variants) at Uralsk Army
Barracks, a probable communications school, suggests that the ACRV M-1974 (variants)
have a probable signal command role. This school usually contains equipment only
associated with signal units.
(TSR) A new, unidentified probable tracked vehicle (canvas covered) was also seen at
Uralsk Army Barracks on photography The vehicle has a 25X1
probable circular antenna forward and an unidentified, possibly circular object aft. The
diameters of both the antenna and the possibly circular objet 25X1
(TSR) A possible TA-EL-O1 (canvas covered) with a circular antenna forward and
without a cab (Figure 2C) was seen at this installation A TA-EL-O1 was ob- 25X1
served here in a partially operational mode 25X1
(S/WNINTEL) Other vehicles/equipment present at Uralsk include two 25X1
R-133 TWIN EAR sets, four probable R-125, and 19 other vehicles/pieces of equipment.
