In the absence of sudh data, no attempt was made to determine the hetghts of the objects. 'Yee area covered by pictures Al 139 CI and B is in What was germerly the Finnish Corridor. The town of Pechenga (Petsamo) is about 12 kilometern from tiee Soviet-Norwegian border. It is about 95 km northwest of Murmansk and about 270 km north-northwest of Kandalakscha. Me locations of items numbered n2n and u3" are precisely plotted on the accomeenying sketch. Item No. "1" is also shown, but since no vertical photography has yet been found of that particular area, it is not located quite so precisely as the other two. No, "1" annears to be an antennae farm, possibly two rhombic arrays. Vithout a coverage it ie not known whether this installation is new. Neither in it known. whether the military?type area to the south is a post-war camp or a 'tomer Finnish installation. The geographic coordinates from the center of Item Ne, ,,11, are 69-3l-35N and 514.9-20E. The orientation of the arrays has not been nrecise4 determined, but the side Which is most nearly parallel with the betiiom of the picture in in 4 north-south direction. The other appears to be oriented on a line between nirmansk and Peebanga. it,cv. No4 ?2" psears to be a grid network similar to the ground-to-anr le&reaues that have been noted II the 1400caa area. There are three longitinal roads and 00Tak transverse roads, all of which have recent4 been cleared. 02 snow. The ample= is appromimatay 875 feet long, 500 feet viEe at the 7,11do end, and 100 feet wide at the narrow end. The center road is on an adm:11.1 or approwinately 3400 from time north. The approximate geogralhis eeepdimtna of the center of the grid are 69-3145N and 31-16-54E. Item Ni., "3" is a group of six objects that are similar in appearance to wooden pylons used by the Soviets for power transmission lines. The location and grouping, however, indicate that they are for some other purpose. It is possible that they constitute another antennae array. These objects were not in evidence on WI photography. They are located near the top of a hill over- looking the Pechenga River. Trees have been cleared from the area since 1942. The geographic coordinates for item No. "3" are 69-30-50N and 31..9E.
