This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA'CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the \PIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Pla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
.port was performed by the Production Center 1 P I a.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators Inc
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as

SUMMARY
An ammunition storage facility and its
support area are located in a forested region
15 kilometers (km) northwest of Petrozavodsk
(Figure 1).
The storage facility is double fenced, sur-
rounded by a broad firebreak, covers 63 wooded
acres, and contains 1 administration building,
1 support building, and 18 unrevetted storage
buildings. The support area contains I admin-
istration building, 2 multistory barracks-type
buildings, and 13 support buildings (Figures 2
and 3).
KEYHOLE missions covered the in- 25X1 D
stallation between
- Comparative analysis reveals no signifi-
cant change.
A siding from the Petrozavodsk - Essola
railroad is approximately 4 km southwest.
The installation has good access to the main
Petrozavodsk - Essola road which passes along
the southern edge. The interior road network
appears to be excellent.
Aircraft Landing Strip
2 multistory probable quarters, and 13 support
buildings.
Area F is double fenced, surrounded by a
broad firebreak, and contains 1 administration
building (110 by 35 feet), 18 storage buildings
(one 120 by 50 feet, one 160 by 70 feet, one 150
by 55 feet, four 160 by -15 feet, three 130 by 45
feet, three 65 by 65 feet, two 65 by 25 feet, one
110 by 55 feet, two 60 by 45 feet), and 1 guard-
house (30 by 15 feet). The storage buildings
are without protective structures but are dis-
persed --among trees. Buildings of this type
generally are used for finished ammunition
storage.
