The plant is reported to have USSR, has produce heavy guns and other produced naval, coastal, and anti-aircraft guns armament in the past. Plant 232 (Figure 2) occupies a site DESCRIPTION OF PLANT measuring approximately 5,200 by 1,700 feet The Leningrad Armament and Tank Plant on the west bank of the Neva River; the site is Bolshevik 232 and Post secured by a wall on the landward side. The plant contains 15 major buildings representing a roof coverage of about 1,636;80(3 square feet and approximately 45 other structures. The major facilities include an open-hearthfurnace, probable rolling mills, assembly buildings, machine shops, storage buildings, and admin- istration buildings.. ? Building 14 is amonitor.-roofed machine shop which was. observed-under construction in .1961. The building is 55 feet high, and it , includes a corner, tower 90 feet high ? which measures 40 by 40.feet. Building 15 is a 2-level high-bay assembly and checkout building which was under construction in 1963. It measures 830 by 185 feet; the 2 bays are 80 and 45 feet high. Both buildings have capabilities for ver- tical missile checkout and testing operations. Figure 3 presents a perspective view of Build- ings 14 and 15. The only other building of significant height at Plant 232 is ;an assembly ? and shop building (item 5) which was present in 1942; this building, probably used for gun- barrel production, has a 55-foot high bay measuring 265 by 140 feet. Other new con- struction at the plant since 1942 includes an addition to the reheat furnace (item 11) in 1963, an office building in, 1961, and an ad- dition to a storage building (item 8) in 1962. ? Descriptions and the dimensions of the major buildings in Plant 232 ire presented in Table 1; because of the irregular shapes of most of these structures, only the,overali measurements of length and width are given.
