ULYANOVSK ARMY BARRACKS, ULYANOVSK, USSR, TOP* SECRET RUFF 25X1A 25X1A Ulyanovsk Army Barracks is located in lyanovsk (Figure 1), 4 kilometers (km) west- northwest' of the Ulyanovsk Railroad Bridge over-the, Volga River and 2 km southwest of the Ulyanovsk Army Bar- racks OCS The secured installation covers approx- imately 50 acres and contains 2 administra- tion buildings, 7 probable barracks, 8 stor- age buildings, and 13 miscellaneous support buildings (Figures 2 and 3). The area is covered on. KEYHOLE mis- sions of fair quality photography betwee~ Comparative analysis reveals that most of the multistory barracks have been built since _ A row of unidentified equipment was observed in the storage area 25X1 D 25)(1 D 25X1 D The installation has access to the city's rail facilities. Road Service Ulyanovsk Southwest Airfield is approxi- mately 11 km west-southwest of the installation. Area D contains 7 multistory probable barracks, 2 probable administration buildings (1 U-shaped) and 9 miscellaneous support build- ings. Two POL tanks are in a secured area .approximately 6 km south-southwest. Area H contains a long, rectangular exca- vation. Equipment Storage/Maintenance Area Area J contains three 275- by 50-foot probable vehicle storage buildings, 5 proba- ble general storage buildings, and 4 miscell- aneous support buildings.
