PREFACE
This weekly summary lists the air and naval order of
battle imaged on photography covering North Vietnam. All
active airfields and naval bases will be reported. Active
targets are those where an order of battle has been observed
since March 1963. Inactive targets showing an order of
battle will be reactivated.
Naval vessels observed in river naval areas, dispersal
areas, or untargeted areas and aircraft observed in untar-
geted areas will be located to the nearest second.
Targets are arranged 1) within the country by subject,
2) within the subject by WAC area, and 3) within the WAC
area by geographic coordinates in ascending order.
Coverage on each target will be presented in chrono-
logical order. Aircraft and naval vessels observed in
untargeted areas will be listed separately at the end of
this report. .
An explanation of column headings and photo references
used in presenting the information is contained in the
appendix.

APPENDIX
City, Installation--This column contains the name of
the city or town nearest the installation, followed by the
name of the installation. If the name of the installation is
not known, it is titled according to its function. Where
appropriate, the city and installation names are followed
by a capsule description.
Coordinates--Coordinates are referenced to the SW
corner of the minute square. When the subject installation
.covers a wide area, coordinates are given for the approxi-
mate center of the installation.
WAC--This column provides the World Aeronautical
Chart number for that area in which the subject installation
is situated.
Installation Numbers--This column is divided into two
subcolumns. The first subcolunm lists, when known, the
BE installation number assigned to the installation. The
second subcolumn lists the installation number assigned by
NPIC. Installation numbers, when used to reference an
item, should be prefixed by the appropriate WAC number,
since installation numbers are repeated from WAC toWAC.
For example, there is an NPIC target number 0468-15-A
.and an NPIC target number 0467-15-A. In each instance,
the NPIC installation number is 15-A, but the installations
appear on different WAC charts.
Target numbers assigned by the Committee on Over-
head Reconnaissance (COMOR), when available, are listed
directly above the photo reference data.
PHOTO REF1 l(L,NCL DATA
The photo reference data indicates the frame(s) on
which the installation appears.
Following the photo reference data, symbols indicate
conditions which affect the appearance of the installation
on the photography. the symbols are: C (clear); SC
(scattered cloud cover); IIC (heavy cloud cover); SC-IIC
(scattered-to-heavy cloud cover); II (haze); CS (cloud
shadow); SD (semidarkness); S (snow); 0 (obliquity); and
PQ (poor image quality).

b. AA Activity:
A 3 emplacement position located East of the SW end of the runway is
unoccupied.
c. Runways and Taxiway-s:
(1)
Airfields and Seaplane Stations of the World reports this afld as
having one hard-surfaced runway on a NE/SW axis. This cover confirms
the orientation however, due to snow cover the runway dimensions
and surface type cannot be determined.
A ladder type refueling apron extends NW from the SW end of the runway.
A rectangular parking apron is located immediately NE of the refueling
apron.
d. Buildings:
(1) At the NW end of the refueling apron are 3 "U" shaped industrial
type buildings. These were apparently badly damaged in ,?WJ II. One
is still completely roof stripped.-
(2) Just East of the above buildings are the hard surfaced floors and
repair shops which were once part of 2 large hangars. The hangar
structures proper are gone.
e. Activity: Five U/I vehicles are visible moving about the. runway area.
f. Serviceability: A fence enclosed U/I landing aid is=visible off each end
of the runway. These landing aids and the above mentioned vehicles
indicate that the afid is serviceable and probably in use.
