Minsk Barracks Kalinina is located 13.5
kilometers (km) northeast of Minsk (53-55N
027-35E), just northwest of Kalinina and on the
south side of the Minsk-Moscow highway (Fig-
ure 1). Several good all-weather roads also
serve the installation. The installation is not
rail served; however, the Minsk-Borisov rail
line is approximately 2 km southeast. Other
military installations in this vicinity include
Minsk Army Barracks Uruchye (AL-1), imme-

Training Area (TA-1), which is directly as-
sociated with both installations.
This installation (Figures 2 and 3) covers
approximately 800 acres and contains four ad-
ministrative buildings, 10 barracks, 19 storage
buildings, 21 support buildings, 20 probable de-
pendents quarters, a tent camp area and eight
equipment storage/maintenance buildings of
which two are located in a secured motor park
area. 'Training facilities within the area include
an athletic field, a wheeled-vehicle driver-train-
ing course and a small arms firing range.
