3. The 47th infantry Division (Figure 1, Table 1), a subordinate of the First Army Group,
is reported to occupy the easternmost sector of the North Korean defenses along the DMZ, from
approximately 38-20N 128-07E to 38-37N 128-17E. The defense sector immediately to the west

administration building, two barracks, and four tunnel-served firing positions with a reverse-slope
tunnel entrance (Figure 2).
C. A probable infantry regiment area (reportedly the 113th Infantry Regiment) is a
well-dispersed area containing 23 barracks, numerous support-type buildings, and numerous
interconnecting trench systems (Figure 3).
d. A probable infantry regiment area (reportedly the 123rd Infantry Regiment) contains
one headquarters-type building, 40 small barracks or quarters, and numerous support buildings
(Figure 4).
e. A probable infantry regiment area (reportedly the 124th Infantry Regiment) contains
a headquarters-type building, 37 barracks, and numerous support buildings. This area is 17 nautical
miles north of the DMZ and is probably a reserve regiment (Figure 5).
f. A probable artillery regiment (reportedly the 35th Artillery Regiment) contains a
headquarters-type building, 12 barracks, numerous support buildings, nine 4-gun tunnel-served
artillery batteries which comprise two probable howitzer battalions and one low-trajectory gun
