DESCRIPTION Ili d For Release 21101%/ftRE RDP78T051 CIA IMAGERY ANALYSIS DIVISION PETROPAVLOVSK/YELIZOVO AIRFIETD USSR 53 10N-158 30E 1A001500010008-5 Petropavlovsk/Yelizovo Airfield (See Figure 2)is located 12 nm northwest of Petropavlovsk and 3 nm southeast of Yelizovo and includes a 8,255 x 195 feet NNW/SSE serviceable concrete runeay, a parallel taxiway, 2 end connecting and 2 crossover links, one large parking apron, one small parking apron and a firing in butt. A small aircraft dispersal area consisting of 6 hardstands and a parking apron extends west from the parallel taxiway. A large rectangular prepared surface parking area is located southeast of the runway and is connected to the runway by a natural surface taxiway. The civil parking area of the airfield is located northwest of the runway and consists of a concrete parking apron and associated natural surface parking areas and is connected to the runway by a taxiway. The reference point is the center of the 8,255 foot runway. Support facilities include one "T" shaped hangar located 0.5 nm west of the RP in the area probably used for helicopter maintenance, one rectangular shaped hangar located 01.25 nm southeast of the RP in the area probably used for jet maintenance, one operations building/ control tower and one large terminal building. Also situated within the support area is one "T" shaped, 2 "U" shaped and 1 rectangular administration buildings, 24 multistory barracks, 9 vehicle sheds, at least 110 support buildings, an athletic field, and numerous quarters type buildings. POL storage includes 4 separate areas and consists of 12 semiburied tanks, 240 horizontal tanks and 12 sets of semiburied horizontal tanks. Ammunition storage includes 2 separately secured areas and consists of 24 storage buildings of various sizes. A double secured Air to Air Missile (AAM) storage facility is located 0.75 nm east of the P.2 and consists of 3 drive-through, one drive-in and 4 drive-by buildings Five small unidentified crates and numerous materials in open storage are located within the AAM storage facility. An air warning radar facility is located 1.5 nm southeast of the RP and consists of 3 occupied mounds containing one probable BARLOCK, and 2 ROCK/STONE CAKE radar. A probable Air Traffic Control (ATC) radar facility is located 1.0 nm WSW of the RP and consists of a TOKEN type radar. The airfield is also equipped with an Instrument Landing System (ILS), Ground Control Approach radar (GCA) and a Very High Frequency Omni Directional Range (VOR) facility. II.
