BERDYANSK LUBRICATING OIL PLANT
BERDYANSK~ USSR
The Berdyansk Lubricating Oil Plant is located in the northwest
section of Berdyansk, USSR (see Figures 1 and 2~. Approxima.te geographic
coordinates for the center of this plant are ~+6 ~+6N - 36 ~5E and its
orientation is east northea.st~west southwest.
The plant is triangular in shape with dimensions of approximately
x+,000 feet by 2,x+00 feet. It is served by a. spur of the Androvka -
Berdya,nsk Railroad. The insta,lla.tion is a,1so served by road.
-The limits of and the various processing a.nd support facilities
within the Berdya.nsk plant are shown on Figure 5.
The annotations on Figure 5 correspond to the following discussion
of facilities:
1. Water treatment area..
2. Steam a.nd power plant.
3. Administration area. - containing one 1a.rge building and
several smaller.
~+. Six large crude storage tanks.
5. Product storage tanks - there a.re four areas of interest.
Area 5a contains ten medium size tanks a.nd fifteen smaller
tanks; 5b, thirty three small tanks; 5c, four medium
tanks and five small tanks; 5d, twelve sma.11 product storage
tanks.
6. (a and b~ Shipping and receiving areas with warehouses
a.nd open storage.
7. (a, b, and c) Processing buildings and warehouses.
8. New construction area in early stage.
g. Railroad spur from the Androvka - Berdyansk Railroad.

storage tanks (Annotation ~+) and a small administration area. (Annotation 3).
(Figure 4), five new construction projects have been completed.

(Figure 5), a number of warehouse, shipping, receiving, an processing
buildings (Annota.tions 6 and 7b) have been completed a.s well as another
administration building (Annotation 3).
There is evidence of early construction in the northeastern section
of the plant in the area. of the railroad spurs (A.nnotation 8).
Figure 6 shows a petroleum tank farm consisting of thirty-six medium
size tanks. The Androvka - Berdyansk railroad, serving the Lubricating
Oil Plant also has a spur to this tar_k farm.
