Figure 1 graphically illustrates the portions of the border areas that were covered by photography (cloud cover and other limitations on photographic quality are not depicted). The following items of interest were noted on WAC 201 ULAN-UDE ARMY BARRACKS BEREZOVSKIY AND THE ULAN-UDE MILITARY TRAINING AREA SE, USSR CI ,PIR- 72 3 51 53N-107 31E 51 49N-107 55E 25X1 o not reveal any significant changes in billeting or storage facilities at these installations since photography of A significant amount of unidentified equipment is parked through- out the Berezovskiy installation. Training activity on the tracked vehicle driver training courses and on the firing ranges at both installations appears to have increased since photography of WAC 239 25X1 ALEKSEYEVKA AREA TRACK ACTIVITY, USSR 48 22N-085 36E Approximately 5 nm SSW of Alekseyevka is an area containing vehicle track activity (medium snow cover on the ground). The area of activity is on the Soviet side of the border adjacent to a stream that constitutes the border. The type of activity (military or civil) and its significance cannot be deter- mined from this mission. WAC 328 FERGANA BARRACKS & TRAINING AREA, USSR 40 19N-071 43E Activity within the barracks area and on the firing ranges at this in- stallation appear to be at medium level. A slight increase in training activity is noted on the firing ranges since previous photographic coverage.
