This report has been prepared to present a chronological study of a
probable SAM training site at the SAM R and D Complex, Shuang-Cheng-Tzu
Missile Test Center (SCTMTC), China (Figure 1).
The site is located approximately 1.7 nautical miles (nm) south of
R and D SAM Launch Site A at 41-02-38N 100-31-10E (Figure 2). It was first

observed on photography of and cannot be negated. 25
The site consists of a probable central guidance area and six unrevetted
launch positions which are arranged in a fan configuration, similar to both
R and D launch sites. No interior road pattern i_s visible within the site.
The average distance between launch positions at the probable training site
is approximately 190 feet, which is similar to both R and D sites.
No vehicles or equipment have ever been identified at the probable training
site, although numerous trails link it to both the main access road serving the
SAM R and D rangehead and to R and D Launch Site A (Figure 2).
No support facilities are present in the immediate site area. However,
since this site is relatively close to the other ranghead facilities, support
is undoubtedly provided by the SCTMTC SAM Housing and Support Area located 2.8
nm to the north-northwest (Figure 2).
