The facility probably is used in training troops in the techniques of maneuvering and positioning missile-related equipment. It was previously reported as a possible ammunition storage area. 1 The facility is in a heavily wooded ravine which provides visual protection from the sur- rounding countryside. No security fence or wall is evident, but a probable guardhouse is near the entrance to the facility. The only access to the facility is by a hard-surfaced, all-weather road from the barracks area. Rail facilities are located in Kotovsk and a spur serves the barracks area. The facility (Figure 3) consists of 2 launch pads, a possible launch pad on which construction has been suspended, a missile-ready building, a control/support building, a probable missile- ready tent, a small building of undetermined function, and the probable guardhouse. The construction has been 25X1 D suspended and the area may have been intended 25X1 D as a turnaround and parking area. In -clearing had begun for the 25X1 D missile-ready building and by the building was under construction. The control/ NPIC L-6001 (11/66) FIGURE 1.
