This report, prepared under NPIC Project 11055/66 in response to CIA Re-
quirement C-D15-82,776 (Revised), updates TCS-80184, Tyuratam Missile Test
Center, Launch Complex G, Launch Area G1-2, April 1966. The information
contained herein includes data derived from pertinent
obtained between

The horizontal and vertical dimensions included in the report are computed
values, as derived, and do not reflect numerical round-off. The horizontal
dimensions are accurate to within plus or minus 5 feet or plus or minus 5
percent, whichever is greater. The vertical dimensions are accurate to within
plus or minus 5 feet or plus or minus 5 percent, whichever is greater. These
dimensions represent the best mensural data to date, and are to be considered
the most accurate with respect to any conflicting data in previously published
reports.

Recent construction activity at Launch Area G1-G2 indicates the launch site
is undergoing expansion and modification. There was no evidence of such
activity in and the first indication of ad-
ditional construction was observed in when an
excavation was identified on the forward side of Pad G1. A building was ob-
served under construction in the excavation in
and a new double security fence which increased the size of the haunch area
from approximately 120 to 200 acres had been constructed on the northeast and
northwest sides. The original fencelines are still visible, but the wire probably
has been removed. In a similar excavation was
observed forward of Pad G2 and a railbed was identified under construction
on the downrange side of the launch area.
Earth mounding has been removed from the downrange side of the earth-
mounded structures flanking the pads, and excavations have been dug down-
range of the structures. A small opening has been made in the top of each
earth-mounded structure; that west of Pad G1 has 2 small openings. New,
open ditching is in evidence at several locations in the launch area.
The poles and towers arranged diametrically across the pads have been
removed.
The hardstand at the south end of the missile-ready building for Pad G2
has been removed, and ditches (possible footings) are now located at that
end of the building. If the ditches are indeed footings, that would indicate
the ready building is being extended by as much as 100 feet in length.
The T-shaped building east of the launch area has been removed, and a
rectangular excavation was dug east of the launch area between
