PREFACE
This is the initial report in a series on the Uzhur ICBM Complex prepared
in response to CIA Requirement C-D15-82,972 requesting detailed line drawings,
to scale, of elements of the complex. The information contained herein is based
on KEYHOLE photography through Mission Individual
reports will be updated periodically to reflect changes observed on subsequent
photography.

UZHUR ICBM COMPLEX, USSR
The Uzhur ICBM Complex, located 110 nautical miles (nm) southwest of
Krasnoyarsk, extends generally west and south of Uzhur. It occupies an area
approximately 29 rim north-to-south and 23 nm east-to-west. The terrain in the
vicinity is flat-to-gently rolling, with an elevation of approximately 1,650 to
1,950 feet. Much of the land is forested, although there is some farming.
The complex (Figure 1) consists of a complex support facility, a rail-to-road
transfer point, and 21 confirmed and 1 probable Type IIIC launch sites in
various stages of construction. Only Launch Sites 1A through 6A are complete.
Sites 2A, 8B, and 12C have control/ electronic facilities; Site 20D probably has a
control facility. Improved roads serve many of the launch sites which are com-
plete or in advanced stages of construction. The rail facilities serving the com-
plex consist of a short spur from a branch of the Novosibirsk/Krasnoyarsk
rail line. The complex can be negated on Mission t was first

be observed at the complex support facility and Launch Sites 2A, 4A, and 6A.
