This report supplements NPIC/R-153/63,
J NPIC/R-5046/64, 2/ and NPIC TCS-
80828/65, 3/ which describe the Disna MRBM
Complex (Figure 1), previously consisting of 2
Type I launch areas, 1 Type II launch area, a
fixed field site, an HF communications facility,
and a rail-to-road transfer point.
The Disna Fixed Field MRBM Site No 2
is located on low-lying terrain in a forested area
2.9 nautical miles (nm) northeast of the town of
Demidovo and 21 nm north of Borkovichi.
The site was not evident on
and was first visible on Mission
The site is located 20 nm north-northwest
of Launch Area No 3, 24.5 nm north-northwest
of Launch Area No 2, and 26.3 nm north of
Launch Area No 1.
The fixed field site (Figure 2) consists of 4
launch positions on a double loop road pattern
with associated clearings, probably for personnel
tents or ready tents.
Orientation of the clearings approximates
those of the 3 Disna soft MRBM sites and the
other Disna fixed field site.
The rail-to-road transfer point for this com-
plex is located on a spur line from the Polotsk-
Borkovichi rail line, approximately 0.6 nm north-
west of Andreyeva (55-37-30N 28-27-15E). The
installation consists of the rail spur, a parallel
service road, and a loop road pattern. Direct
roads with wide-radius turns lead to each of the
3 launch areas.
