REQUIREMENT RR/HTA/E/R105/56: Determine the location, numbers, and dimensions
of the various types of equipment existing in the Moravska Ostrava
Petroleum Refinery, Ostrava, Czechoslovakia. Report any evidence of
new construction or expansion.
The Moravska Ostrava Petroleum Refinery is located in the city of
Ostrava, Czechoslovakia, near the-Czech-Polish border. It reportedly
produces light and heavy gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene,. and lubricating
oils.

The refinery is situated in the northwest section of the city,: one
and one-half miles SSW of the confluence of the Oder and Ostravice rivers,
and is bounded on the northwest by a marshalling yard and the Bohumin
Railroad. The plant area measures approximately 1,960 feet by 880 feet.
Transportation for both crude and refined products is by rail.
A comparison of photography with that of = indicates
that several buildings have been removed from the northeast section of the
plant and replaced by a new power house, two new cooling towers, and a
