ORR REQUIRE ENT HTA/E/R38/56: Describe changes since 1944 in the Leningrad
Aircraft Repair Plant "Lipezh" 148. Identify any aircraft in the plant
area or on the factory-airfield.
The subject plant, located in the SW section of Leningrad, is no longer
engaged in aircraft repair operations, although it appears to be active in
some other function. No aircraft are evident in the plant area or vicinity.
The May 1943 ground plan of the major buildings appears unchanged. Some
small buildings have been constructed and others have been removed. The plant
is no longer rail served, the railroad spur formerly serving the plant having
been removed.
Adjoining the "Lipezh" Aircraft Repair Plant to the south is the Leningrad/
Alekandrovskaya Airfield, reported to be the factory airfield for this plant.
The airfield has been abandoned and is no longer in operational use. No aircraft,
hangars, or airfield facilities of any type are observed. Some small buildings
are now located on this former airfield and roads and ditches traverse the air-
field area.
