TALENT photography of 25X1 D provided. excel.lent.coverage of the entire installation., 1/ - ever, areas of probable new construction and activity can be noted on the new coverage and it provides some information on power lines In the West. Siberian grid. Z/ Analysis of details of those portions not cloud covered is further ham- pered by heavy haze. No buildings or structures can be discerned, just general ground patterns and areas that have been cleared of trees. The following is a list of changes or areas of probable new construc- tion and activity within the installation. Item numbers are keyed to the photo mosaic of the installation from TALENT photography with the new areas overprinted in red. 1. Mud Lake, dump area - the mud lake, a dump area for reactor and chemical separation plant wastes has been expanded to the west, ap- proximately doubling its size. 2. Possible new construction - a portion of this area was cleared of trees on the TALENT photography, but in this clearing had been enlarged. The presence of buildings cannot be determined. 3. Possible new construction - this area.has been cleared of trees, but the presence of buildings cannot be determined. 4. Chemical Separation Plant - the chemical separation plant area ha,s been enlarged to the west. The number or types of structures in this new portion cannot be determined. 5. Possible power trace - this new clearing through the woods may p.ossibly be a rerouted power line due to the expansion. of the mud lake. 6. Possible new pipeline or trench - a short section of cleared path through the woods which may represent new links in .the pipeline or drain- age network. On TALENT photog- raphy the rail line serving the chemical separation plant ran through this area. 9. Lake north of thermal power plant this small lake is ice free in although the Tom River is frozen solid. This is fur- ther supporting evidence that the .lake is used as a hold-up basin for reac- tor coolant effluent. 10. Intake canal for thermal power plant - this canal, like item 9 above, is observed to be ice free in KEYHOLE photography of reveals some additional information on. portions of the West. Siberian grid which may be relevant to the Tomsk installation. A. double power trace can be seen leading from Anzhero-Sudzhensk (56-05N 86-02E) eastward to Tayga (56-03N 85-37E),. At. Tayga the "lines split, one leading southwest to'Yash- kino (55-53N 85-2.6E) and the other leading northwest along the rail line to Tomsk.
