USSR Railroad Stations and Route Information, May 59 (C) REMARKS Dzhezkazgan (47-51N 67-28E), a major copper-mining center, is 290 miles southwest of Karaganda on the single-track railroad (Route No 491)* from Zharyk (48-55N 73-00E) to Baykonur (47-50N 66-05E). A.s shown on the accompanying line drawing, the relatively minor rail facilities include the following: two rail yards, 2, 200 and 3, 000 feet long, and each six tracks wide; locomotive and -car repair shop, 160 by 95 feet, containing 6-8 stalls, with 'adjoining shop, 135 by 55 feet; boilerhouse, 160 by 40 feet; and passenger sta- tion, 100 by 45 feet. *Route number is taken from the document listed above.
