REMARKS
Two hexes on-type surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites have been
identified on, small-format aerial photography. A qualified
Western observer noted a third type of hexagonal SAM site in the Moscow
area. 1/ This authority stated that the three SAM sites are in the vicinity
of the following cooed fates (See Figure 1):

Line drawings of the two sites on which photography is available are
included In this brief (Figures 2 a:~).d 3).
The first SAM site (Figure 2) is only partially covered by photography.
Three launch revetments and a guidance facility, all under construction, are
visible on the photograph.

The second SAM site (Figure 3) contains six launch revetments and
guidance revetments under construction:. The launch revetments are posI
tioned in a fan-shaped patter?? with the guidance revetments in the center.
The launch revetments at both sites are similar in design to those at
the SAM site near It is reported by the Western
'observer (mentioned above) that the site on which photography is not avail-
able is of the same design as the SAM site near Sverdlovsk, USSR. 1/2/
