KEYHOLE photography confirms the existence and
location of the West Siberian Metallurgical Combine, under construction
at Antonovo, approximately 7-nautical miles north-northeast of Stalinsk,
USSR. TALENT photography showed indications of 25X1 D
preparatory activity in the area u. revea: e no significant construction
work.
Construction of the housing area and perhaps part of the metallurgical
complex appear to be well under way, but the extent of completion cannot
be determined. it is apparent, however, that the complex will be consid-
erably larger than what now e,its. There is no photographic evidence
that construction of the heavy units (blast furnaces, steel furnaces, and
coke plant) has been started, and no power plant is discernible.
This combine is connected to the Stalinsk Metallurgical Combine,
Kuznetskiy Stalin ve by a railroad,, new sinceEW
which crosses the Rom r on a new bridge immediately east o t e
latter combine (see accompanying map). The former railroad bridge has
been dismantled, and rail traffic has been diverted across the Stalinsk
Railroad and. Highway Bridge over the Tom River?
