A review of the reports shows that 22 different locations or place names have been used in reference to the "suspect missile sites." A search of the best available_I'ALENT photography produced no 25X positive evidence of missile facilities or activity at or near any of the 22 locations. Brief descriptions of the activity, observed at each loca- tion follow. Each description is followed by photo and document refer- ences which include the date of the photography examined and the date of the information given in the document. 1. Cayo Largo (21-40N 81-25W) No identifiable missile activity was observed. A graded-earth runway, not yet complete, measuring 3,500 by 225 feet and oriented northwest/ southeast, was observed at 21-37N 81-33W, with support; facilities at the northwest end of the runway. Construction of both the runway and support facilities appeared at a standstill in Construction of a seaside 25X resort 2.8 nautical miles (nm) southeast of the runway also appeared at a standstill. Minas del Frio (20-OON 76-59W ) No identifable missile activity was observed within a 5-nm radius of Minas del Frio. At Minas del Frio, road construction and mining were observed. A camp containing 40 buildings is located in the area. Mayari Arriba (20-27N 75-31W) No identifiable missile activity was observed within a 5-nm radius of Mayari Arriba. The only item of interest is a building area containing 14 barracks-type buildings and several small support buildings. Just west of the building area is a group of ten pit diggings partially grass- covered and water-filled. A gravel runway 4,200 feet long and oriented east/west is located at 20-25N 75-31N. Laguna del Tesoro (22-21N 81-07W) No identifiable missile activity was observed within a 5-nm radius of Laguna del Tesoro. There are several small resorts in the area, and a large resort is located 3 nm west of Laguna del Tesoro. A three-gun AAA position defends the large resort. San Antonio de los Banos (22-53N 82-30W) No identifiable missile activity was observed within a 5-nm radius of San Antonio de los Banos. Conventional military defenses are noted north and northwest of the town and in association with San Antonio de los Banos Airfield, one nm southwest of the town. An installation under construction at 23-03N 82-06W, 2.2 nm east-northeast of Tapaste and .8 nm north of Mendoza includes five and possibly six excavations or cuts 200 by 30 feet (depth undetermined) on the rim of a cliff. Buildings have been constructed over or are straddling two of the excavations or cuts. The first installation, at 22-56N 82-24W, one nm northwest of Bejucal, includes an earth-covered, concrete building and an earth-covered, concrete drive-through structure. The second installation is under construction at 22-56N 82-23W, one nm northeast of Bejucal.
