Greene, Jr. Commandant headquarters, U. S. Marine Corps Washington. D. C. 20380 Dear General Greene: 4 FEB 1966 Y'ollowing our recent conversation. I asked that the attached study be prepared to provide you with Information on shipping to Cambodia and the possibility that the Viet Cong use Cambodian import trade as a source of supplies. A a you will note, we have a great deal of data about shipping to Cambodia and the general nature of its import trade. We do. lack some detailed data about specific conunodity imports and their exact disposition. Although we are unable to quantify the amount of supplie a that are obtained by the Viet Cong through Cambodia. we feel certain the amount is small. No. significant amounts of military supplies are believed to be obtained from Cambodia. We share your concern over the possible use of Cambodia as a aource of supplies for the Viet Cong. We will continue to keep the subject under study and will report new developments in our regular intelligence publications and special memoranda. Sincerely. 25X1A `/81 Richard Helms Richard Helms Deputy Director .Attachment ORR/D/T~ dr 2 Feb 66) Rewritten: O/ExDir b1p (4 Feb 66) 25X1A GFOU?
