NOTES FROM BRIEFING ON NEW WEAPONS

A. Anti-Personnel
1. DRAGONTOOTH -- this is a small weapon that will not be in
production until September 1966.
Detonates with 30 lb. pressure.,
Self-neutralizing in 7-8 hrs.,
2. TRIPWIRE MINE -- this mine will (TFDM Dispenser)
A penetrate jungle canopy.
It has 8 wires each giving out 251.
An F-4 with 16 TFDM cannisters will give 40 miles of
pattern several hundred feet in width of 50% probability.
With a Mayes Dispenser (SW-24) in a B-47 or B-52 the
pattern with 50% probability will be 100 miles long and

This model will sterilize, by self-detonation in 144
hours. They are trying to get it up to 1,000 hours.
There is a crash program to get this to the field in
South east Asia. They hope to have a short-shelf life (s
than--lO-- years) model in production by December 1966. Di t
B. Anti-Tank Land Mine (in engineering)
It buries itself at about 3'. Ideal for getting a tank. Will
work on a truck except that the magnetic field for a truck is smaller.
Weapon self-destructs in 12/48/or 72 hours.
It will be a good year before this is in production.

C. FMU-30-B Land Mine Fuse
This-fuse self-destructs in 84 hours. It digs in 5'. It
will take out trains, trucks, etc. Makes a 32' crater.
It has a counting capability from 1 to 4.
To be operable in March 1966.
Designed for use with MLU-l0 mine (750 lb.)
Can also be used with Mach 81 NO lb.) bomb
or Mach 82 500 lb.) bomb
or any standard-fuse bombs.
