The only places on the schedule where there are intelligence activities other than those of CIA and Defense Attaches are Honolulu and Madrid. r'2. The Pacific Intelligence Center at Camp Smith in the suburbs of Honolulu should be of interest to both staffers. It is included in the General Defense Intelligence Program, so is part of the NFIP budget reviewed by the SAC. A visit to Camp Smith also should include a call on the J-2, PACOM (Brig. General Doyle Larson, USAF). 3. The 16th Air Force is located at Torrejon Air Base near Madrid and its intelligence office is part of the tactical intelligence network in Europe. The only time available, how- ever, would be Sunday morning, which is not auspicious. Also, I do not recommend a visit be proposed unless the staffers already are rather familiar with the organization and role of U.S. military forces in Europe and have a background in national/ tactical intelligence relationships.
