1. We have now received additional guidance in outline
form from the PFIAB concerning the preparation of the annual
report to the Board covering fiscal year 1964. The portions
of this outline applicable to the Directorate of Intelligence
are attached. The Board has also extended the deadline for
receipt of the overall report from CIA from 1 September to
1 October. This permits a corresponding extension to 15 August
of the deadline for receipt by the 0/DD/I of contributions
by DDI elements.

2. In order to facilitate and assist in the preparation
of contributions from the offices of the Directorate of
Intelligence, I have asked to work closely with
the staff officers you have designated to draft your contribution.
