In early October 1970 with DIA reported 25X1 that I photo interpreters were having problems with the hoto raphic format of B-configuration camera material which the had been receiving. The major problems suspected were in measuring objects on the imagery and in locating each frame of photography as it related to maps or other ground information. 2. A telephone conversation between (Chief, 25X1 Special Activities Office, DIA) and (Assistant 25X1 Deputy Director for Intelligence, CIA) determined that this problem might be best solved by the release of "B" camera configuration data h "B" e This data would cover only the operation of t camera on missions. 3. (Deputy Director, NPIC) on 7 October and related the conclusions of His conversation with At the same time, advised that f DIAXX would be the action o icer. as to visit NPIC and work out the necessary details to implement the greement. 4. arrived at the NPIC promptly at 1000 on 7 October for a meeting held in office. NPIC attendees at the meeting included and the undersigned from the Office of the Director; f APSD/TSG; and Mr. f RRD/PSG. 5. At the outset of the meeting it was determined that only Modes 3 and 4 had been used inI overflights utilizing the "B" camera configuration. The system has five modes.
