ATTENTION
SUBJECT : RFD Management Support Positions, NPIC
1. Of the 43 CIA positions allocated to RF1D Management
Support at NPIC, 36 are professional and 7 are clerical. Four
of these positions (3 officers and 1 clerical) are assigned to the
Office of the Chief/TSG. The remaining positions are assigned to
the Research and Engineering Division/TSG (RED) as follows:
a. Office of the Chief - 3
b. Reconnaissance Systems Branch - 6
c. Systems Research Branch - 9
d. Systems Development Branch - 7
e. Advanced Technology Branch - 14
2. Fourteen of the officers in R1-.D arc directly involved in
monitoring NPIC R&D contractual projects; the-remaining officers
are engaged in supervision, operational liaison on, current and
on-coming systems, and special RFD studies and basic research
(e.g., in house aspects of the digital image manipulation program.)
3. The 14 proje.t officers are now monitoring a total. of. 57
contracts with a total value of -r
