SUBJECT : Additional Classified Information Processing
Equipment for Proposed Use By the NPIC
REFERENCE : NPIC/P&DS-139-64 Memorandum dated 3 August 1964
instruments to the requesting com ent , it is necessary to determine
1.. A request has been received by the P&DS for determining the feasi-
bility of`lnstalling remote writing equipment and facsimile producing
equipment within NPIC.? Besfoorre any steps can be taken to provide these
whether there be any signal emittance from these devices that will
violate security regulations. Top Secret material is to be transmitted over
this equipment.

the following Electrowriter equipment:
1. Transceiver
2. Transmitter
3. Receiver
4. Copy Receiver
I he following Datafaix equipment:
1. Transmitter ( 3 minute), Model FT 3628
2. Receiver (3 minute), Model FR 3628
3. Transmitter (one minute), Model FT 9095A
4. Receiver (one minute), Model FR 9095A
5. Transmitter (dial operation), Model FT-18ODP
6. Receiver (dial operation), Model FR-18ODP
3. All of these instruments
necessary to determine whether a cable that will meet agency security standards
is available. The equipment will be used in lieu of the' -ray telephone, at
times, thus necessitating a Top Secret transmission approval.
4. A prompt reply would be appreciated concerning the security status
of the above listed equipment. Present requirements at NPIC dictate the
use of this or a similar type of equipment for interoffice communications.
