Approved ForSease 2005/11/21: CIA-RDP78BO477OP 02900020064-0 July 16, 1964 STAT STAT !STAT ISTAT STAT ~STAT Mast visit here we iscusse wit the film work being done at reviewed their work on a non-silver halide system. They have a non-diazo type material, dry, heat developable. It is sensitive in the visible region to about 6000 A and has a speed on the order of ASA 1/10. They can produce either a negative or a positive depending on how they combine heat and light. This work is in its early stages and the samples they had were not of very high quality. The D is about max 0.9. Il asked if there were any way of using reflected light or rear projection viewing which would eliminate energy absorption b the film which heats up the film in the gate. I Istated reflection could not be used for high resolution but dispersion might be. He thought it might be possible to bleach the silver to a translucent silver salt which would disperse the transmitted light out of the viewing path. indicated he would consider the possibility turther and perhaps do a little experimental work, but I have not heard anything further from him.
