Approved For Release 2005/11/ August 17, 1964 DIGITAL READOUT COUNTERS There is some confusion as to which Model Counter I uis to provide on the current order. There were two models made on the previous order. They were: Previous Order for Two 2-axis Counters 1. One each Model 2825A Control Panel One each Model 2827A Synchronizer Two each Model 2826A Counter with input amplifier, with 5-volt lamp power output connector, and with a multipin output connector for 15EL44 amplifier power for the sensing head. 2. One each Model 2825A Control Panel One each Model 2827A Synchronizer Two each Model 2826B Counter with input amplifier for the sensing head and with no extra p nectors. The Present Contract for Three 2-axis Counters One each Model 2825A Control Panel One each Model 2827A Synchronizer Two each Model 2826B Counter with input amplifier for the sensing head and with no extra power output connectors. This is what is being built and this is what requires, however, the contract calls for Model 2826A counters. A contract change is required and I understand is preparing to issue a change. The present contract for one 4-axis counter is denoted the Model 2826C with input amplifier, with 5-volt lamp power connector, and with a multipin connector for 15EL44 amplifier power for the head. The Model C is the same as the Model A but is configured differently due to the different physical arrangement. Also, the zero reset and preset reset pushbuttons have been deleted. The functions will be controlled remotely by customer equipment. Declass Review by NGA. The situation was hopelessly confounded last week when erroneously told me the opposite. He had said on August 10 that the 2-axis was being built for the heads and the 4-axis was being built for the head. This information naturally confused o n w en reported it in my last report. and are being checked out byl The control panel As of this morning (Monday), ad not received the two data phones or the data phone data sent by John last Friday, had, however obtained the data from the F- I local rep. cannot tell as yet what the interlock problem is. They may, however, find the answer when they get the data phones. They can undoubtedly find the problem when they operate the 2-axis system now being com leted with a data phone. Sending the data phones to was a sound action in my opinion. For the first 2-axis system, the counters were completed is completely assembled and wired. The synchronizer wiring is nearly done and will be completed by tomorrow. Checkout of the chassis will continue through the week. Approved For Release 2005/11/21: CIA-RDP78BO477OA002900020053-2
