REFERENCE: Video Tape Transducer, Project #99753-6
1. Discussions as to equipment and techni ues of interest were
held with Capabilities and
operations of the transisterized video recorder VR-200 were discussed in
detail. This equipment can record any of the worlds major television
systems by the addition of plug-in modules, arranged for a
color demonstration of the VR-2000. The basic recorder is color compatible;
full color capability can be obtained by adding available plug in modules.
2. is performing in-house R&D in the field of video disc
recording. The company is in the process of final assembly of a video
search and retrieval system for NASA, Huntsville, Alabama. This VIDEO
FILE is made up of a magnetic tape storage system which can be readily
updated, a magnetic disc, which is used as a buffer, and an A.B. DICK
video print out which is used for producing continuous tone hard copy.
R&D efforts for a larger (19") disk for increased capacity and for a
harder disk coating are underway, ndicated that there
would be no problem in stacking these disks for a large volume video
storage and high speed random access system if such a requirement were
received.
